Nancy is a certified birth doula who has nearly 30 years of professional experience in public health, educational and social services. She currently works as the Medical Educator for the local domestic violence shelter. Nancy has been married for 25 years with four great children, now in their teens and 20's, and had four different birth experiences, including a Caesarean section, two VBACs and an unplanned home breech delivery. While supporting her sister in labor five years ago, she met Cindy Trainor as a doula and was so impressed, she took the next training offered. Nancy recently returned from a medical mission trip to Haiti, where she was able to be a doula to several moms at a Birth Center. "Birth is a physical, emotional, and spiritual experience. I like to "mother the mothers" by offering comfort through words and deeds. As a doula and as a mother, I have learned that birth is a place for love, not fear, and therefore, hope to impart courage and strength to those I serve. I believe a baby needs to be welcomed into the world surrounded by love. Click here to view testimonials.
